The Award!!!
Incredibly we have won the 2008 Sustainable Development Award!!!
Thanks to all of the hard work of the people involved in designing, supplying and building our home, we were privileged enough to be chosen as the most sustainable development in the whole of Knox for 2008.

If you're lucky enough to be living in the City of Knox, here's a link to some of the fantastic programs they're facilitating, if not have a look and lobby your own council to provide something similar!
What we are all about...
We believe that it is not only possible, but easy to build a house that has minimal, or even a positive impact on the environment, while at the same time fitting the mould of a modern looking and functioning house.
How we went about it...
We have done a lot of research into new, emerging technologies along with some old tried and tested ones, then we've sat down with our Architect, along with the suppliers and tradesmen, to figure out what was both possible and practical.
Who has helped us...
We have had a lot of fantastic support from a large number of people. On our 'Links' page are some of the people and companies who I recommend due to my experience with them. Click on their names or logos to be linked to their sites!
How you can use this site...
We've tried to distill the 100's of hours we've spent researching in to this tiny little website, so please don't take what we've found out as the best solution for you! Take away everything you can from this site then do some research to improve on what we've done... there are a lot of people out there with amazing ideas, go and find them or use your own.
Also, please don't forget, you can use these ideas on your existing home - you don't need to be building or renovating to make your home more sustainable. You can change your lights, install a low energy heating or cooling system or invest in some indoor plants just to name a few.
What's next...
There's a couple of things in the works at the moment that we're pretty excited about.
Firstly, we're currently in the process of producing two Ebooks, which will be available to download from the site. One is completed and is an extended version of the website with pictures and diagrams to help you understand some of the things a bit more clearly. The other will be about our gardens and how to plant and foster a garden that will grow without much of your time and effort and also attract lots of native fauna.
